SCHOOL CLOSINGS (603) 889-6054 x456

In the event school sessions are canceled or delayed, a no-school announcement will be made over the following radio/tv stations around 6:00 am. Please remember to look and listen for the Presentation of Mary Academy. PMA is listed separately from the Hudson School System. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE STATION

If School is canceled, there will be a message on the school's answering machine at (603) 889-6054 x456 between 5:30 and 6:30 AM. To hear the message, dial the school number and extension. If there is a message, it will come on at that point.

Parents who feel that road conditions are too dangerous for travel are free to keep their child/children at home (excused absence) and call the school to advise us of their decision. Canceled school days are made up at the end of the school year in accordance with state law and diocesan policy.

SCHOOL OPENING DELAYS

School opening delays will be implemented when deemed appropriate. In the event that there is a delay, the Before School Program will automatically be cancelled that morning. The after school program will still be offered in the afternoon.

Because Parents will drop off middle school students first, these siblings will be allowed to enter the building with them at that time. Tese siblings will wait in the gymnasium (K and Pre-K in their classrooms). Students without older siblings are expected to arrive, as nuch as possible, at the times scheduled for their levels.

The following are the expected arrival times for students for the various delayed opening times:

DELAY Gr.6,7,8 Gr. 3-5 Gr. 1-2 Kinder & PreK
1 Hour 8:30 am 8:45 am 8:55 am 9:10 am
90 Minute 9:00 am 9:15 am 9:25 am 9:40 am
2 Hour 9:30 am 9:45 am 9:55 am 10:10 am

The start of school time is 10 minutes after the arrival time for Grs. 1-5 and 15 minutes after the arrival time for Grs. 6-8

Students in Grs. 1-5 will be picked up in the gym for the start of school time.

Kindergarten and Pre-K teachers will proceed to meet their students at the arrival time in car line. Early arrivals of K and Pre-K with siblings will wait in their classrooms with their teachers.

PARENT COMMUNICATION

Teachers are not allowed to make or accept phone calls or hold meetings during class time. Teachers may be reached after 2:30 PM by calling the school at 889-6054 or a parent may send a note to the teacher in the student folder.

Students will not be called to the phone during school hours. Telephone calls for students must always go through the office. All important messages will be delivered to the student by a designated person.

Students are not allowed to use the telephone without permission from the office. Forgotten books, gym uniforms, homework, etc. are not considered emergencies.
