STOP & SHOP GIFT CARDS

This program is new to PMA for 2007-08 and is a great way for parents to participate in fundraising. Here's how it works:

The Stop & Shop Cards are of equal value to money. The certificates are available in denominations of $50, $25, $10, and may be purchases through the school with a check made out to Presentation of Mary Academy.

Every time you use a card purchased through our school, Stop & Shop will have already donated 5% of your total dollars spent to the school. For example if you spend $100 at ANY Stop & Shopt and pay with the Stop & Shop card purchased through the school, you have earned $5 for PMA. The average family can raise over $300 in one year for the school.

How To Order Certificates

Send the money to school in a small envelope labeled Stop & Shop Gift Card and insert the envelope in Wednesdays White Envelope. We will return the gift card to you by Friday via your children.

A few other important details to remember.

  1. Plan ahead for vacations and holidays - when there is no school on Friday, cards will be distributed to your child on Monday.
  2. All checks for Stop & Shop Gift Cards must be received by Thursday. Stop & Shop Gift Cards will not be available to you on Friday if we do not receive your check on Thursday.
  3. The only checks honored for Stop & Shop Gift Cards are those with a PMA family name on it. If you choose to sell certificates to family and friends, please make sure they write a check to you so you can then write a check to PMA
  4. The certificates make great gifts for friends and family at the holidays.

The certificates will be available every Friday, beginning October 26, 2007.

SCRIP GIFT CERTIFICATES

We are introducing a new fundraising program for PMA. It’s called “scrip”, and it’s the fundraising program that works while you shop.

Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including JC Penney, The Gap, Pizza Hut, Kohls, local restaurants, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Please see the list of participating retailers on the order form enclosed.

Scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to PMA at a discount. PMA families and friends purchase the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and PMA applies 4% towards the buyout fundraising fee (2% for Lowes and Home Depot) or if your family is not doing the buyout option, we will designate the money for our technology fund. We predict that if 50% of our families purchased the gift cards through PMA, we would earn approximately $10,000 per year.

The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for PMA without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including clothing, entertainment, and even dining out. The PMA scrip program promises to be a simple and effective fundraising program.

What You Need To Do To Enroll?

  1. Complete a Scrip enrollment form (to be kept on file at the school), and return it to school by Friday, Nov 30th.
  2. Return a completed Order Form with a check made out to PMA for the total amount of certificates you are purchasing.
  3. All Order Forms must be returned to the school office no later than Thursday(s) to assure that you receive your certificates by the following Thursday.
  4. Each time you wish to order certificates you can print out a blank Order Form from our website

Your participation is this program is important to us even if you already paid your $300 fundraising fee. At PMA we will use the scrip program to purchase our maintenance supplies and materials at Home Depot, Staples, and Office Depot, why not? Every little bit helps us provide your child with a great education. This money will truly help us with the many technology needs that we have at the school.

Thank you for your support! Please do not hesitate to contact Donna DesRuisseaux 603-889-6054 x204 or pmabusiness@comcast.net for more information.

OTHER WAYS OF GIVING

Matching Gifts: Many businesses offer matching gift funds, which can double or triple a donor's gift. Check with your employer.

Designated Gifts to a particular program are always welcome. Many people may wish to make a gift directly to the library or to the music program, or many other areas.

Planned Giving offers many ways to remember PMA through banquets and wills, life insurance, annuities, charitable remainder trusts and other areas. Contact the principal to help coordinate your wishes.

Memorial Donation Cards Available: PMA Memorial Donation Cards will be available for families who desire to donate money to the Academy in memory of a deceased family member or friend. Money donated to the school through this fund will be used to upgrade our computer lab. Memorial Donation Cards are available through the school office.

Memorial and Honorary Gifts are a thoughtful way to remember someone special while helping PMA. Most gifts are by cash (check), but gifts of stocks and securities may also be accepted by the school and may also be matched by some employers.
