PMA CROSS COUNTRY 2010
The Cross Country Running team will have practices twice a week (Monday and Friday) for students in Grades 3 through 8. Training sessions will consist of exercises, stretching, and running.
PLEASE NOTE: Permission Forms and the athletic fee must be paid for a student to participate. Copies of these forms may be found on the Athletics Page.
PRACTICES AND PICK-UP
Practices will be from 2:30 until 3:45. Please be prompt. All students not picked up by 3:45 will be placed in the after-school program and charged accordingly.
For those children enrolled in the after-school care program, please send in a note to allow your child to be dismissed from running to the after-school care program at the conclusion of practice if you will not be there by 3:40 to pick the children up.
Please remember to send the students to practices with proper running attire which includes shorts or sweat pants, sweatshirt, athletic shoes and a WATER BOTTLE. If it is cold, layers of clothing are best and gloves and hats are always helpful. All athletic wear should be dress-code appropriate meaning no short shorts or tank tops.
CANCELLATIONS
Practices will generally NOT be held in inclement weather or even if the weather has been threatening to be inclement. I will make a decision by noon on practice days, and cancellation announcements will be made during the children's lunch. We will sometimes run in light rain, especially if it develops late in the day, but you may choose not to send your child. Please try not to bother the office with phone calls when possible.
