Participation in the summer reading program is mandatory for all students entering grades 1 through 8. Much care has been taken to assure that the expectations for each grade are appropriate for the students entering that grade and provide for the different reading levels and interests, as well as literary value. At each grade level, students will select from a list of books to read and then complete a book report as assigned.

For your convenience, the Summer Reading Lists are posted at the start of summer vacation here on our website as well as in the PlusPortals app Parents. This information will remain available throughout the summer.

Upon return to school for the new school year, your child must bring the completed reading assignments to his/her teacher during the first week of school. Your child’s work will be graded on the completion and the quality of the work turned in. The grade earned will become part of the first quarter cumulative grade for reading/literature.
